National Mathematical Olympiad

The premier national championship uniting top provincial math champions at Kathmandu to compete for the national title.

Eligibility

Top provincial qualifiers from PMO across all 7 provinces, plus reigning national medalists.

Format & Duration

Stage 3: Two-day Olympiad championship modeled strictly on the IMO format. Day 1: 3 Problems, 4.5 Hours. Day 2: 3 Problems, 4.5 Hours. Total 6 rigorous proof-based problems (42 points max).

Advancement

Top 20 overall performers receive National Medals and earn admission into the intensive Residential IMO Training Camp (TST Pipeline).

Core Curriculum & Topic Areas

Algebra & Inequalities

Polynomials, functional equations, AM-GM, Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities, sequences & recurrences.

Number Theory

Divisibility, primes, modular arithmetic, Euler totient theorem, Diophantine equations, LTE lemma.

Euclidean Geometry

Triangles, cyclic quadrilaterals, power of a point, radical axis, projective geometry, homothety.

Combinatorics & Graph Theory

Counting principles, pigeonhole principle, invariant principles, graph coloring, extremal combinatorics.
